In the fall of 1996, the North Bay Public Library applied for a Digital Content Creation grant to digitize materials related to the Dionne Quintuplets. In conjuction with its partners, the Callander Bay Heritage Museum, the North Himsworth Public Library, the City of North Bay, the North Bay Area Museum, and the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce (owners of the Dionne Quints Museum), the group planned to identify, catalogue, digitize, and present the Dionne material on the City of North Bay's award winning world-wide web site. Phase one identified, digitized, and presented the archival information and images on this web site. Phase two included cataloguing the collection and providing a search function. We would like to thank all of the project partners for their dedication and cooperation with this project, and Edward Ferguson for the many hours he put in to designing the original artwork for the website. Project partners were:
A special thanks to our volunteers, especially Sally Soanes. The Dionne Quintuplets attract many researchers, historians, and tourists to the Nipissing area. Previous to this project's birth, there wasn't a comprehensive guide to all relevant materials. The partners felt that this project would greatly increase access to important information, both remotely and locally. The information will be available through the Internet for people who cannot visit the region physically; the Internet presence will also increase interest in visiting the area. All materials have been captured in bitmap format, and a copy has been preserved on CD-ROM for archival purposes. The images presented on this website have been converted to jpeg format for easier loading. Correspondence with the Dionne Sisters is possible through this mail address:
